Firstly congratulations on your recent proposal, we understand that organising a wedding can be a little daunting so we have compiled some answers to questions that we are frequently asked to try and help you on your way to planning your perfect wedding day.  If you would like to get in touch with us please don't hesitate to call us on 01604 629972 or email us at and we will be happy to help.

When is the best time to start shopping for my wedding gown?

The simply answer is whenever you feel like it, you may be planning for your wedding in 2 years time or next month so there is nothing to stop you looking for a gown years in advance of your wedding day.  All we recommend is you book an appointment in advance of coming wedding gown and bridesmaid dress shopping so that we can ensure you have lots of time to browse and relax in our private fitting areas with a lovely glass of fizz!

How long does it take to order a new wedding dress?

The average order time for a new wedding gown is approximately 6 months, however if you do not have that long then please don't panic.  Many of the designers offer an express order service (charges payable), which can cut ordering times in half if required and some of our wonderful designers carry stock of their gowns*.  It is always advisable to let us know in advance of your appointment so that we can ensure we can order your dress in time for you wedding day.
*Stock would need to be checked with our designers before we can guarantee availability of a gown.

Do I really need an appointment?

We would always recommend that you pre-book an appointment to come in and try on wedding gowns.  We have a private fitting area on the 1st floor of our bridal store, where you and your bridal party can sit back and relax with complimentary drinks.  During your appointment our friendly wedding consultants will help you choose and try on as many gowns as you wish and offer helpful advice on accessories.
Please note that Sunday appointments will require a £10 booking fee which is refunded at your appointment.

Who should I bring with me to my appointment?

In our experience  we would recommend 2-3 guests whose opinion you absolutely trust is an ideal number. If you bring more guests it can become quite overwhelming and somewhat confusing trying to listen to all the differing opinions.

What should I bring with me?
In order to feel at your most comfortable bring a strapless bra with you to your appointment, when you have your gown fitted you may decide to not wear one but its best to be relaxed when you are first looking! Many brides also find it useful if you bring a pair of heels that you feel comfortable in.

If you haven't booked an appointment you are always welcome to drop in and browse our collections.  Where possible we will always endeavour to assist you with your wedding dress shopping but unfortunately fittings can not be guaranteed without an appointment.
If you are shopping for bridesmaid gowns we would also recommend booking an appointment in our downstairs bridesmaid area.  By booking this large dressing room and seating area we can ensure that you and your bridesmaids can sit and have fun whilst trying on our selection of over 50 bridesmaid dresses in store.  Your dedicated wedding consultant will assist you with gowns, colours and drinks during your appointment.
